So this is what I chose to do for our free assignment and it is hand-lettering. This is something we started at a class one day (well a three person class) and I never got around to finishing. I decided to complete it and because I hand-lettering one of the aspects I enjoy most about graphic design, I figured this would be appropriate. It simply stated 'knowledge is power' and has an image of a lightbulb. The latter part of the word 'knowledge' is made to look like the filament in the lightbulb and is lighting up the lightbulb to associate knowledge with literal power and electricity. I chose these fonts with some help from the internet but I find I'm gravitating towards fonts like the cursive one more often now that I've had a chance to look at many fonts. This was also the first time I've incorporated colour into one of my designs but still kept it fairly simplistic and this way the yellow really pops.
